Paytm, Paytm First Games apps taken down from google play store: what we know so far

                                

Digital payments company Paytm's main app and paytm First Games were  removed from the 

Google play store on Thursday. This comes after tech giant Google issued a statement on "play gambling

policies in India" 

A search for the both the apps showed no result on the play store. However Paytm's other apps such as Paytm for business, Paytm mall and Paytm money still appear 

Why Google is removing apps 

"Google play is designed to provide a safe and secure experience for our consumers while also giving developers the platform and tools they need to they need to build Sustainble businesses. our global  policies have always open designed with that goal in mind considering the good of all our stakeholders "Google said in a blogpost.

when app violets these policies, we notify the developer of the violation and remove the app from Google play store until the developer brings the app info compliance "suzanne Frey vice president product Android security and privacy wrote in the blog post 

what Paytm said 

"Dear Paytm'ers (Paytm users) Paytm Android app is temporarily unavailable on Google play store for new downloads or update. it will be back very soon the Digital paytments apps stated.

is your money safe 

"All your money is completely safe and you can continue to enjoy your Paytm app as normal further mentioned

what about iOS

it must be noted that all the mentioned apps can be seen in the iOS platform.

what Google said on Paytm app removal 

"the paytm app was blocked for violations of play policies - a clarification of our policy was released earlier today ahead of the IPL (Indian Premier League)
